At my age and my health there are probably a few dance moves that I cannot master. But it always surprises me when someone says, “I can’t dance.” As in period — end the conversation. This makes me sad because to me that means, “I can’t feel the music.” The music enters a body and the movement of one’s body flows from the beat. Unless of course, we are worried what the body in motion looks like to other people. And then that is not an inability to dance but an inability to share one’s inner self — to share one’s music. What a lovely day today would be if we all shed our outer skins and danced to the music that nature hears everyday but that so many humans have closed their hearts to.
