I have been nominated for my first award by the newly published author Kathryn at Allergic to My Life. Kathryn has nominated a few of our fellow bloggers that also comment frequently on my site — so a few I know will get multiple kudos — just please don’t let loose your fire-breathing dragon on me.
“The philosophy of the award is: The Dragon’s Loyalty Award is an award for the loyal fan/commenter, whether the recipient is a fellow blogger or just someone who follows and comments regularly”.
“There are some rules that one must follow in order to fully accept the award and they are as follows:
1. Firstly, display the Award on your site. You earned it and you deserve it!
2. Link back to the person who gave you the award in your acceptance post;
3. Nominate 15 well deserving bloggers for the Award and let them know the wonderful news by sending them a message on their site;
4. List 7 interesting facts about yourself”
1. My favorite song is: I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song) from Disney’s The Jungle Book.
2. I am double jointed in my fingers.
3. I held a job where I was paid to eat chocolate every day.
4. I’ve gone a 100 mph on a motorcycle.
5. I hate the color pink but love the color yellow.
6. I was rescued by the Coast Guard during my FIRST sailing lesson when we capsized (twice).
7. I really love when a guy opens the door for me and acts chivalrous.

You got paid to eat chocolate?! 😮 Sounds like a dream but how long did it take to get sick of it? Did they have to rotate staff?
Did you like going 100mph? I rode pillion on a motorbike once but I was scared silly.
Colleen said:
Okay I love your comments cause I usually learn a new word. I too rode pillion (that was the word I had to look up). No I didn’t get sick of the chocolate but I did have to learn to be a good taster consuming very little since I have low blood sugar. We had morning tastings with all the lab techs tasting all the finished products. I helped a different tech each day so I also had to taste the product right off the line. And then there were various tastings during the day. The gross part was having to taste all the raw materials. 😀 Now I want some chocolate. Have a sweet day.

You still haven’t told me whether you enjoyed going 100mph… 😉
It’s good too know that tasting chocolate for a living didn’t put you off. 😀
Hope you manage to find some lying around the house somewhere. (When does that ever happen? :))

I liked going 100 mph very much but it really didn’t seem that fast. The tough thing about all the tasting I did was I’m kind of a chocolate snob now — and with all this talk of chocolate now I’m really dreaming about some hot chocolate chip cookies (we occasionally had to taste those at work as well. 😀
Sarah said:
Sorry. 😀 Those cookies sound so gooood.

Congrats on the award!
I want to hear about the sailing lesson.
Thanks for nominating me.
Colleen said:
Thanks! The sailing is a long story — it’s actually part of a book I’m writing. The short version — 3 students that had never sailed — one instructor that kept saying we shouldn’t do this on a first lesson — a pop-up thundershower — boat flipped — we righted it — flipped again — had to swim though the thunderstorm to the life guard boat. It was way more exciting than it seems. I figured I would post part of the book for my fellow bloggers when I get it finished – that seems like a good section. And you are most welcome for the nomination — thanks for all your support. 😀

Being in the middle of a big body of water in a storm is scary when the boat is upright. I look forward to you post.
